Ever since I was allowed to hold my father’s camera, a Minolta SR-T 101, I have been interested in photography and taking photographs for my own enjoyment. It only dawned on me recently that perhaps, others might enjoy my photographs as well.

My first camera. It all began with a Hanimex 110 DFTele using 110 film; yes, it was the 80’s. I loved that camera, even when there was no film in it, I’d run around “taking photographs” like some crazed paparazzi.

Over time, I have collected a ridiculously large collection of negatives, both colour and monochrome that one day I might digitise and publish here. I did have a black and white darkroom set up in 2006-2007, but alas, the digital age was upon us, chemistry and paper were getting scarce and the digital technology was getting better, slowly. I vowed never to change to digital and well, I broke that promise to myself.

The year is 2021 and it seems black and white film, papers and chemistry are available once again. Thank you, COVID-19, Hipsters, my eternal drive to avoid study (don’t get me started on that topic) and my wife for allowing a darkroom/photography hobby to overcome me once again.
